Mary Immaculate Queen School provides an environment in which each student is encouraged to develop as an individual and as a member of the parish community. The resources of the school, parish and local community are engaged to meet the needs, talents and goals of each student. Students leave M.I.Q. not only fully prepared for their high school experience and a follower of Christ, but as good citizens with the values of respect, cooperation and patriotism.
In addition to a top tier academic and elective curriculum covering all essential subjects and preparing students for rigorous secondary school programs, M.I.Q. maintains a list of School Wide Learning Expectations which prepare your student for the challenges of society as a whole.
MIQ School is committed to preparing our students to be active members in today's technology centered world. Grade levels K-8 receive instruction in the state of the art computer lab and are immersed in technology enhanced classroom. Lessons are integrated and enhanced using interactive white boards, responders, internet and multi-media that is textbook based. In addition, weekly STEM challenges encourage creativity and "out of the box" thinking, while making learning fun.
The religion program provides opportunities for the students to live the faith through prayer services, participation in liturgies and reception of sacraments. Our students strive to see the sacredness in the depths of everything and to be inspirations for their families and community. At M.I.Q., Catholic Identity is the top priority, as we find that faith filled activities are more powerful than a stand alone religion class.
There are many additional opportunities for students to develop special talents. A variety of extracurricular activities are offered for both boys and girls. These include Sports, Student Council, MIQ Choir, Rosary Club, Field Trips, Drama, Cooking, Gardening, Leadership, as well as Vocal and Instrumental music. Students are also involved in community activities and service projects. Examples include: Food Drive, Winter Coat Drive, Easter Basket, Smile Train, Nursing Home Visits, and Volunteering at the local Animal Shelter.
M.I.Q. offers Pre-School, K-8, and Extended Care.
